Should you give up?

The other common mistake people made while trying to quit is they tend to give up when something bad happen. Most likely they will give up and blame it on the stress, the problems, situations they are facing right now. Personally, I faced numerous stressful problems after I quit. That is where my friends and loved ones around me come to recognize my talent and asked if I could help them to quit subsequently.

Should you give up? These are the question I asked myself during those times. But I had to ask more question like:

1)    Does smoking solve my problems?
2)    Does smoking really make me feel better?
3)    Will I quit again after I give up now? If yes, why give up now?
4)    And if I give up now can I take the withdrawal symptoms the next time?
5)    Why give up when I decided to quit in the first place? (effort wasted)
6)    Do I really want to be controlled by nicotine again?

I seen people gave up quitting during bad time like the recent economy downturn and I believe there are more. The truth is every time you go through such situation without going back to smoke, it makes you stronger and the resistance to smoke will be enhance.

Why do we smoke when we are stress? The actual fact is we not only smoke when we are stress but we smoke when there are activity that we use to associate with. For example, if you used to smoke after a meal then you will feel like smoking after a meal. For me I use to smoke heavily when my gout relapse so the very next time my gout relapse I did have the temptation to smoke. By breaking the habit of smoking when the associated activity happens it also strength the willpower to quit forever.

Quitting and bad time are of total different issue so if you can logic yourself for one minute the answer will be clear to you. Hope this post is an encouragement to those thinking of giving up and helped you to push towards a smoke free lifestyle.
